Standard: Day 134 of 365

Today’s illustration was a bigger bite than I could chew!

I enjoyed yesterday’s so much that I decided to do a better (and bigger) one today. Today’s is twice the size. Twice the work. And of course, I decided it needed painting. More work!

So I’ll count the black and white line art version as today’s illustration and I’ll finish colouring it when I get some more time.

Such an incredibly relaxing thing to draw though. Switch your mind off and go with it. Therapeutic.

Then I started to paint it:

And then I had to stop painting it, for today. So this is where it’s at right now:

Itching to finish it but dinner and wine and feeding and bathing a toddler calls. Then I’m putting my feet up, mmhmm.

    • Thank you! I saw some of those just today actually! They were a modern version and made of cardboard but they were lovely.

  1. Hello,

We have been enjoying your drawings when they pop up in our reader! You are very talented!

It made me happy to see here that you use a Bic fine point marker to ink your drawings. My dad works for Bic (in New Zealand!) and those fine point markers are my favourites for art projects!

Do you have a plan for all your pieces once you are through the 365 days? I agree, drawing can be such a peaceful activity! Thanks for sharing yours!

    • Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to comment and say lovely things! I do love those Bic markers, I think at last count I had a dozen or so, no doubt I’ll pock some more up during the next week or two too. I have no idea what I’ll be doing with all these drawings when I’m done… Don’t suppose Bic want to sponsor an exhibition, do they? 🙂 🙂

      Just kidding.

      Thanks again, xx
