I am feeling pretty chuffed about today’s baking.
I’m not really a baker of cakes or slices or, anything sweet really, mostly because I’m not very good at it, to be perfectly honest.
All that measuring and science, eek! Too much precision for me.
But after I saw blueberries toady for $2.99 a punnet (they’ve been $6.99 for the last couple of weeks), I just knew I had to do something with them, so I made a buttery, crumbly blueberry slice and wow! Its buttery and it’s crumbly and it’s full of blueberries.
JUST what I wanted!
I used a recipe from Smitten Kitchen and although I followed it fairly loosely it was very easy to make.
We’ll be eating these tonight, warm, with a healthy dollop of custard, and by healthy I don’t actually mean healthy.
