Flashback Friday & Adventures with a new guy

I’ve been a little quiet of late, I know.
A mix of concentrating on a book idea/illustrations for that book idea and sewing things and not feeling too well this week and being a mum to a three year old.

All that makes for a busy busy week.

Anyhow, lets take a little look back at an old illustration that I liked for Flashback Friday, shall we?

This one was Day 99 of 365 Illustrations.
I like this one because A) It was done when I first fell in love with Rob Ryan’s paper cuts so I decided to try one out for myself and B) I’d never done anything with paper cut (other than getting them) before. So, it was a happy experiment, I think.

And now, the new guy!
On Monday I was doing a little doodling and this very groovy little guy appeared out of all the scribbles, here he is here:

I became quite fond of him as I sat staring at him for a bit and then I wondered, “What is your name, little guy?”
Neither of us knew.
Perhaps, what we needed was
a list!
So a list is what we made

But I’m still no closer to knowing what his name is.

Deciding to put the name (or no name) issue aside, he began a little series of adventures.
First, he met with a bird

Then, got trapped in the garden

Before finally, narrowly escaping DEATH!

Phew! It was a big day for little…whatever his name is.

(More adventures to come, probably)

Happy Friday xx

  1. He’s wonderful! I love the way you’ve drawn his shadow too. For what it’s worth, I think you may be on the right track (pun intended) starting his name with an O… Oggie gets my vote : )
