I do love a weekend project, I do.
Some time ago I saw this idea, probably on Pinterest, and kept it in the back of my mind for months! We had an old coffee table that was no longer inkeeping with the style of our house but instead of throwing it out, I stored it upstairs in a corner of what is supposed to be my art room – after 6 or 7 years in this house I’m yet to actually do any “art” in this room, I prefer being downstairs where the action is, anyhow… – I have had this old coffee table stored upstairs since last year knowing that I had a plan for it, I was just waiting for the day.
And that day came!
Last week we had a cubby house built in the backyard and now I’m up to my eyeballs in the dizzy joy of decorating and painting and making things to go inside this cubby house. It’s the best project EVER! I’m not even kidding. So much fun! (And there will be pics posted when its done, oh yes there will, once it’s all finished).
As part of Project Cubby House, I decided I wanted a table that did more than just act as a regular old table hence, my weekend project.
What I used was this:
1 x tin chalkboard paint (black)
1 x tin Gloss Acrylic Enamel (I used the water based type. I also used red but it comes in a load of colours)
2 x paintbrushes
1 x old coffee table
A fun and functional piece of furniture for a cubby house.
I love it!
Now, onto the next cubby house project… 🙂
